Strolling through a supermarket, do I ever find myself irked by the mere fact they're selling stuff? Probably not, right? Sure, I might grumble about the price tags and keep an eagle eye out for better bargains, but feeling upset with the store for offering an array of choices? That’s not usually on my shopping list.

Yet, when it shifts to online sales, why do some of us feel as if we're committing a faux pas by selling? 🤔

I myself used to shy away from adding those clever little upsells or order bumps in my funnels. I managed to sell one product well but then feel guilty as if I crossed some unspoken line by offering more.

Let's pause and rethink this. If I’m holding something truly beneficial, why hold back from offering it? After all, isn’t it about enriching my customer’s life with choices that are completely optional?

My hesitations in selling might just be the invisible shackles holding back my business yacht from sailing into richer waters and making a bigger splash in my market! It’s high time I unlock my sales potential to its fullest with a concept I call “open-hearted selling.”

To master this, I embrace this simple truth: in every transaction, there's a seller and a buyer—that's the essence of commerce. And believe it or not, people are expecting, even hoping, I will offer them something valuable. Whether it's a knowledge boost from a course, a spike in productivity from software, or sheer enjoyment from a movie, customers are generally ready and willing to exchange their hard-earned cash for what adds value to their lives. And why stop at just one product?

If I trust in the worth of what I’m offering, I sell it boldly and proudly—without a hint of hesitation. Selling openly means continuously providing value without remorse, continuously reaching out to my leads, customers, and hey, maybe not my mom (she deserves the VIP freebie treatment).

Folks, this isn’t just about being bold in sales; this is about transforming how my marketing funnel scales and how some soar to monumental success while others flounder.

Want to truly impact my market? I start by supercharging my own business. It’s easier to influence others when I’m not just scraping by but thriving through active, fearless selling.

  • Enhance Like a Pro:

    When my customer is about to checkout, I casually suggest an add-on that complements their primary choice. Like offering a matching set of chairs at a furniture store, or an audio version during an ebook purchase—it's about enhancing their initial decision, not overturning it.

  • Upsell with Heart:

    Got a customer to buy my starter offer? Fantastic! Now, I keep the value rolling with something even more premium. Whether it’s immediate or later in my funnel, I make sure every offer feels like a natural upgrade, not just a bigger price tag.

  • Strategic Down-Sell:

    If a customer passes on the upsell, I offer something more wallet-friendly. This isn’t just about making a sale—it’s about fitting their needs and budget, which can lead to even more upsells down the line.

And remember, I never prejudge whether my product fits a customer until I truly understand their needs. I’m not pushing—they’re choosing. And with every choice, they’re opting into more value, which I’m there to provide generously.
