In Hawaii, we often use the word 'Mahalo',
which means 'Thank You' in the Native Hawaiian language.
And so my friend,
I would like to welcome you and extend to you
the biggest and warmest MAHALO for visiting my site!
I am honored to have you here.
In Hawaii, we also often use the term 'Mana' (pronounced 'munnah')
which refers to a person's spirit, energy, knowledge, heart, life force,
and all that is within the inner being.
And so, it is with humble heart that I share with you here,
all of my humble MANA.
It is my utmost desire that this little site will, in some way, on a grand scale or just a small nugget, provide encouragement and support for you,
in life and business.
It is my hope that you may gleen from the offerings of my mana, any form of skill set, or knowledge, or insight, or deep inspiration that will contribute to your overall peace, happiness, and success in any of your life endeavors!
Please allow me to introduce myself...
My name is Serena...
A simple, small-town girl of Asian/Caucasian descent, born in Honolulu and raised on the west coast of Oahu, Hawaii.
My great-grandparents migrated to Hawaii from the Philippines so I am fourth generation Filipino-American. My English-Scottish military grandfather from New York served in Hawaii during WWII where he met my Filipino grandmother... and, well, two generations later, here I am.
I have four beautiful siblings with one who has already made the peaceful transition back into eternity.
After graduating from an all-girls Catholic high school, I went on to fly the friendly skies with Continental Airlines as an international flight attendant. The experience of it all was, of course, beyond fascinating. Traveling the world opened my mind and gave me such a great appreciation for all walks of life on this great planet of ours.

Philosophy on Life
Philosophy on Life
Life on this earth is such a temporary entity.
We don’t have time to waste on things that won’t matter much at the end of it all.
Life is more than just about
working, paying bills, having fun, and dying.
We each have a divine purpose here on earth and it is our responsibility to seek and fulfill that purpose
for the uplifting of our world.
We are here to make a difference in the lives of others
and those we care about...
our families, our friends, and our communities...
in whatever capacity that may be –
to give, to help, to laugh, to love.
But seriously my friends, how can we make a difference in the lives of others we care so much about, if we ourselves are financially broke or in poor health, physically, mentally, or emotionally, right?
How can we possibly give what we don't have??
The short answer: We can't.
Before we can make a difference in the lives of others, we must FIRST make a difference in ourselves and in our own lives.
That, my friends, is what my heart, and my business, is all about.
Join me, and let's make a difference
TOGETHER!

The Arduous But Amazing Journey to Self-Discovery... and Freedom
My life, as many others, and possibly even yours... was no smooth snailing. I grew up in quite the dysfunctional home environment, the emotional effects of which lasted far into my adult years. Long story short... by the time I had reached the age of 30, I was married, divorced, broke, and bankrupt. I lost my home and was living on canned tuna fish salad everyday because I didn't know I qualified for welfare, and would have probably been too ashamed to apply for it anyway. Life felt like one big depressing struggle. I would spend days on end, without leaving my home, shutting myself off from the outside world. People thought it was weird. I was still functional and responsible enough to my job of course, doing my best to put on a smile and even making people laugh. But the truth was that I was in quiet desperation. I felt trapped and yearned for freedom. I yearned for freedom from the constraints of life, of a job, of social norms, societal judgement, of lack and limitation. I didn't desire to be rich in monetary wealth or to live in luxury. I just wanted to be free and live life on my own terms without the feeling of chains and shackles.
Since the young age of 18 I remember getting involved in numerous business opportunities that offered the dream of financial freedom and independence. It started with an insurance company called A.L. Williams. Next, I think it was Cutco Knives. Over the years I then found myself in couple nutrition companies, Herbalife, and then Shaklee. Oh, and some time in between, I remember selling vacuums, lol. I absolutely yearned to have my own business and be my own boss. Yet, I failed at - every - single - one - of these businesses, and I couldn't, for the life of me, understand why others were making it and I wasn't. I did my best to implement all of the strategies I was told to do... talk to my family and friends, which I hated; wear a button that read, "Lose weight, ask me how", which I hated even more; go to the swap meet and put flyers on cars, which was annoying when the security would them all off and toss them in the trash; and pass them out to people at the malls or wherever else I happened to be, which I found a little embarrassing. It all felt so "sales-y" and uncomfortable. I attended weekly meetings and paid the expenses of traveling to annual out-of-state conventions. But after it all, I was still just as broke as when I started.
Years gone by when I stumbled upon yet another company online, Empower Network, which introduced me to the concept of digital marketing. This was a new concept that got me excited. To think that I won't have to do all those silly strategies that didn't work for me was exciting. I did my best, also traveling to attend a few of their events. But in the end, while I couldn't seem to get this one going either, I now understood the powerful potential of the internet, and set hopes on this endeavor.
Meanwhile, it wasn't until many unnecessary years later of continued struggle that I finally came to the realization of the true source of my success, or lack of should I say. And that source was ME, with a capital M and a capital E - ME. My emotional state of being. My mind and my thoughts. My perspective on life. My perspective on myself. And my perspective of others. It was all ME the entire time. And all, or almost all, of it was negative and destructive. Albeit subconsciously, I allowed all the negative emotional experiences of growing up in a dysfunctional home environment to become a part of me and more so, allowed it to define who I thought I was, and also how I defined and judged other people as well. Given all of the negative energy I was putting out, it was no wonder I was broke, stressed, and depressed.
However, over time through a daily personal development practice, I was able to maintain more and more awareness of the truth of who I really am. I began making a conscious effort to give out love and positivity, instead of criticism and judgement. This wasn't the freedom I thought I was seeking, but it was freedom in every sense of the word. It was the deepest kind of internal freedom that makes way for those other "freedoms" to materialize. That's just the way the universe works. Then, low and behold, slowly I began to see life change before my very eyes. It didn't happen overnight, but I will tell you, several of those big unexpected blessings did seem to come out of nowhere. I was able to release a lot of the heavy emotional junk and get my mind and my focus clear on what it was that I did want to create in my life. With this new higher perspective, I began attracting the resources and opportunities that has brought me closer to finally realizing my dream of starting and maintaining successful business.

Personal Development and Spirituality
"Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” - Jesus
We are all ONE.
When we judge others we judge ourselves. In judgment there is no love.
Whatever we do to another we also do to ourselves; and whatever we do to ourselves we also do to another.
"For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body."
1 Corinthians 12:12
I believe science and spirituality are one and the same. If we take the time to study the science of the unseen realm, we will eventually find the truth of our own personal spirituality, independent of religion.
“The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena,
it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.”
― Nikola Tesla

My FAVES
Sewing
This is a much younger version of me, lol. Although I don't get much time to sew these days, sewing is one of my most favorite pastimes. I enjoy creating things with my hands. Sewing often takes me into a quiet meditative zone, where I can be with my thoughts while my hands are creating. I love the fun of transforming a one-dimensional piece of fabric into a 3-dimensional piece of clothing! One I spent the entire summer in a studio sewing class with a few of my sewing girlfriends and it was one the best summers of my life! Unfortunately, that sewing studio is no longer in business, but I have such fond memories of it.
The dress in the image is one of my favorite dresses. It isn't an expensive name brand, or a special gift from someone special, or that I got a good deal on it. It is my favorites because I made it. The fabric of simple cotton rayon was cheap, nothing special. I learned a little drafting that summer and got help drafting the pattern according to my body measurements, so it fit me perfectly. At least it used to, LOL. Well, sometimes it still does, haha. That was a while back. It has pleasant pastel colors and flowers that gives me a happy feel and is so lightweight and comfortable. I just a love cool comfortable sundresses.
I this picture, I am a visiting educator at another school in Pensacola, Florida, where I had a chance see their home economics classroom. If you look closer, there is sewing machine stored away in the open drawer that I am leaning over, so, needless to say I am all smiles... cheese!
The dress is so old now, with a few small tears, but I will keep it forever. On a good year I may even fit into it, lol. It brings me fond memories and inspires me to sew whenever I can fit in the time.
FOOD ADVENTURES
Aaah, the adventures of food! If there is one thing I enjoy as much, or even more, than sewing is exploring the exciting world of delicious and exotic cuisine! I love to try new, unique, different cultural categories of food. I love all kinds of food but Japanese is probably at the top of my list, followed by, hmm, maybe Italian.
I have to admit, dining out is one of my weaknesses. But an even bigger weakness for sushi. I absolutely love good fresh sushi! I also love crustaceans... lobster, crab, shrimp... oh so good.
I also love fresh fruits and vegetables, so in general however, when I'm not out exploring necessarily, I enjoy soups and salads. There are such a variety of ways that a good delicious salad can be prepared that it doesn't get too boring. Couple that with the variety of soups available and mm, mmm, good. Just like grandma used to make, lol.
TRAVEL AND ADVENTURE
Aaaah... and last but not least, my fascination of travel and adventure.
Travel expands the mind of our greater existence and opens our spirit to the myriad of beautiful souls in that existence.
I love to explore. I love meeting and connecting with culturally unique but like-minded souls from the world over.
Double Dare!
